A Circle Skirt for Chloe

06 June

I’ve never made a circle skirt before.  I’ve heard that they are super-easy, and yes, they really are.  And too cute!

The pattern is The Circle Skirt, a free tutorial by Dana Willard of MADE.  You can find it, along with many other skirt designs, in my Sewing Project Roundup post How to Make a Girl’s Skirt.  Dana’s tutorial is so easy to follow – thanks, Dana!  When Chloe first put this skirt on, she instinctively twirled 🙂

The fabric is 100% quilting cotton.  The selvage says: DeLovely 2010 Cosmo Cricket by Andover Fabrics.  I love the tiny little rose bud design.

Add a Target tank top and call ‘er good.

I put my twist on the pattern by sewing in some leggings and cut them to length.  Chloe likes to feel pretty in a skirt AND actively play outside.  With these, she can do both in a modest way.  As a mother of a 6 year-old, built-in modesty shorts make me feel at ease.  Now she can ride her bike with a skirt on!
